Hate to bump a post a year on, But i've been using my Aspire One for 3 years now as an every day machine, its a tough beast. the battery still hase 2 good hours or run time, 45 min if i'm playing WoW with GMABooster (166mhz graphics up to 400MHz) i've upgraded the memory to the full 1.5 GB the chipset can take. Plays World of warcraft around 25-40 FPS, and many new games still play great.

It is a fine selection indeed (glad you confirm, I was a little afraid that you might consider them too AAA for your exquisite tastes) and I am surprised how much I managed to cram into this month.

As for GTA IV, well, the simulation is okay, but I expected more from this generation. The step up from my favourite GTA: Vice City is not as huge as I would have expected, not to mention in most aspects it is also step back from GTA: San Andreas. As for Liberty City being vivid, it falls into uncanny valley for me - it looks close enough to reality and all the illogicalities and weird quirks start to really bother me.

Oh, and though I have to generally agree on your GTA IV assessment, I must admit I'm still impressed by its simulation of urban life. Liberty City is incredibly vivid.

I played it before U2 and enjoyed it very much. After playing U2 it may appear a little bland - it's not as spectacular as the sequel, but it's definitely worth playing.

It is... but as you said, it kicks ass nevertheless! I really liked Indiana Jones vibe and some action sequences were just over the top (jumping from truck to truck in Himalayas, everything on and around the train). I am SO buying Uncharted 3 when it comes out.

BTW, is the first part any good? I would like to have a go at it, but it's ranked significantly lower on Metacritic.

Some people say that Uncharted is unoriginal, linear and heavily scripted. Maybe that is true, but... it kicks ass anyway;) Its 80'sesque action-adventure cinematic style is unbeatable.
